Bed mobility & Transfer
This assessment was designed to test my risk assessment and management, my ability to successfully build a therapeutic alliance and my professional handling of a simulated patient to move them from lying down to sitting on the edge of the bed and transferring them into a wheelchair. The simulated patient I was assigned was named Michelle, who recently underwent surgery on her right femur and right forearm, the aim was to practice sit-to-stand exercises with her and to teach her how to get into a wheelchair
Teaching Walking Aids
The focus of this evaluation was to demonstrate my proficiency in instructing patients on mobility equipment, manual handling, and interpersonal rapport. In this simulation, I assisted Stephanie Lee, who was recovering from surgeries on her left hip and was non weight bearing. I guided her through the correct operation of a two-wheeled walker. The session involved teaching her how to use a two-wheeled walker and assisting her during her practice, ensuring she gained confidence and safety during her gait training.
