Nice to meet you!
Hello! My name is Alyssa Ong, and I am currently pursuing my first year of physiotherapy studies at Curtin University. As a dedicated weightlifting enthusiast, I have a deep interest in rehabilitation and am driven to help individuals return to the activities they find most meaningful.
Born and raised in Singapore, I have volunteered with the Fei Yue Senior Activity Centre and TOUCH Community Services. These opportunities allowed me to engage meaningfully with diverse populations, fostering a strong foundation in interpersonal communication and patient advocacy.
Through these roles, I discovered the vital importance of approaching care with genuine empathy and compassion. Now, I am a collaborative team member dedicated to mastering clinical techniques while maintaining a high standard of academic excellence.
Why Physiotherapy?
Growing up, I was always passionate about sports and staying active, which naturally sparked my interest in a profession that blends physical health with my daily lifestyle.
What truly solidified this path for me was witnessing how physiotherapy transformed my loved ones' lives.
Seeing my mother and grandparents navigate recovery from various injuries with the help of dedicated specialists showed me the profound physical and emotional relief this field provides. I am deeply driven to help others and believe a career in physiotherapy is the most rewarding way to use my skills and energy.
